An antique opal and diamond swallow brooch, circa 1870 pavé-set with diamonds, centering free-form opals, enhanced by ruby cabochon eyes; retailed by Garrard, with signed box; estimated total diamond weight: 4.25 carats; mounted in silver-topped fourteen karat gold; length: 4in. (pin stem is detachable). Accompanied by Garrard appraisal, dated January 16, 1981.
