Topaz is the star this month so might as well start out with a spectacular example! This bodice ornament feature two large golden or “sherry” colored topaz stones that are surrounded by white topaz and rock crystal quartz. It was created in Portugal around 1770. Currently it is part of the Victoria & Albert museum collection. .
