While shopping with her sister in London, Jackie spotted the Sunburst Pin in an antique shop and instantly fell in love with it. However, when informed that the brooch cost over $50,000, she knew she had to find a solution. She returned to the USA after securing the shop owner's promise to not sell the piece, and went about quietly selling the wedding pins given to her by Rose and Joe Kennedy years before. It became one of her signature pieces even wearing it in her hair.
