A diamond and gem-set butterfly brooch late 19th/early 20th century The head, thorax and abdomen set with an oval-cut sapphire and cushion-shaped diamonds, the eyes with cabochon rubies, the wings pavé-set with old brilliant, cushion, single and rose-cut diamonds, and vari-cut emeralds and rubies, the antennae with rose-cut diamond tips, the legs and abdomen with engraved decoration, mounted in yellow gold, diamonds approximately 4.50 carats total, French assay marks.
