Antique demantoid garnet and diamond tremblant butterfly brooch, c.1900, the tremblant wings with pierced diamond set 'veining' and two lines of small circular cut demantoid garnets, the body set with a line of darker oval cut demantoid garnets, one in a diamond cluster forming the thorax, the four-stone abdomen with diamond accents in between, demantoid garnet eyes, the scrolling antennae with diamond set terminals, mounted in gold and platinum.
